Attention: families of residents at Alzheimer’s Queensland residential aged care facilities


We have been directed by Queensland Health to immediately lockdown our aged care facilities in Brisbane.


This means that effective immediately our Aged Care Facilities are closed to all visitors


  • Garden City Aged Care Service, Upper Mt Gravatt
  • Windsor Aged Care Service, Windsor
  • Rosalie Nursing Centre, Rosalie

In addition, residents will not be able to leave the facility for family gatherings or social outings.  As per our standard practice throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, special consideration involving contact and visitation rights will be awarded to those whose loved one is nearing the end of their life.  


All staff will be required to wear surgical masks whilst working.


We invite you to use our ability to Skype, Zoom or call.  Please contact the Director of Care at your facility to arrange a mutually agreeable time to contact your loved one.


We also have a dedicated phone line - 1800 180 023 - which is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week if you have any concerns or questions about these restrictions.


Attention: families of client's at Alzheimer’s Queensland community service centres


In regard to the  latest COVID-19 infection update in the Greater Brisbane area, Alzheimer's Queensland have had further discussions with Queensland Health and we have made the following decision:


  • All centres will reopen on Tuesday 12 January 2021 for Centre Based Day Respite - Monday to Friday only.
  • There will be no overnight respite services at the Centre until a review is completed on 21 January 2021.

All In-Home services will recommence from Tuesday 12 January 2021, and all staff will continue to wear masks when providing services both  In-Home and at the Centre until otherwise advised.


We will endeavour to keep you updated on any changes that may occur in the community within Alzheimer's Queensland and continue to support clients, carers, and staff to ensure your health and wellbeing.
