National Aged Care Advocate

The Australian Government has appointed the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) to deliver the Commonwealth funded National Aged Care Advocacy Program.

OPAN has been engaged to provide free, confidential and independent advocacy support to older people, including their families and representatives, who are receiving or seeking to receive Australian Government funded aged care services.

OPAN will deliver this advocacy service through its network of nine organisations across Australia. Each organisation provides a nationally consistent model of independent advocacy, information and education focused on the rights of older Australians in need of care.

In Queensland, the OPAN network organisation delivering the National Aged Care Advocacy Program is ADA Australia.
