  RESIDENTIAL CARE INFORMATION  
     
 

The Alzheimer's Association Queensland (AAQ) offers a range of residential care facility options including Independent Living Units, High and Low care Hostel accommodation, a Secure Dementia Unit and a High Care Nursing Home for ladies. Residential Respite, both High and Low care is also available. AAQ's Residential Care facilities provide a welcoming environment for family and friends to visit and enjoy a meal with our residents at any time. The Association uniquely employs a Residential Support and Liaison Officer to help prospective residents and their families negotiate the Aged Care maze and to provide support in the early settling in period.

Our philosophy is to care for our residents with respect, kindness and compassion, to uphold their dignity, privacy and comfort, to respect and endeavour to maintain their valued social role while conducting the administration and provision of quality care services in the highest professional manner.

The Association's Residential Care Facilities mission is to operate as a centre of excellence in the delivery of quality care to our residents.

Our Aims and Objectives
Residents are acknowledged as members of the wider community with all attendant rights and responsibilities and as having a unique social, familial, cultural, religious and spiritual experience.

Additional Services
AAQ's residential facilities offers a range of Allied Health services including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Podiatry, Dietician and Palliative Care services. Residents also have the option to access Natural Therapies, Music Therapy, hair dressing, church, and exercise and leisure programs.

GARDEN CITY RETIREMENT HOME

AAQ has proudly operated the Garden City Retirement Home since late 2004.

The facility is a 65 bed purpose built facility offering Independent Living Units, Low Care Hostel accommodation, High Care and secure Dementia accommodation all with single rooms with ensuites. Garden City Retirement Home offers "ageing in place" and Residents can feel secure in the knowledge that the facility can continue to accommodate residents whose care needs change over time.

Residential Respite care is also provided for both High and Low care clients.

The home is conveniently located at Tryon Street, Upper Mount Gravatt and is within easy walking distance to the Garden City Shopping Centre.

Garden City Retirement Home endeavours to focus on keeping the residents connected to their family, friends and community and provides support for all residents to participate in a variety of activities both inside and outside the home.

ROSALIE NURSING CARE CENTRE

The Rosalie Nursing Care Centre is a 40 bed high care residential facility proudly owned and operated by the Alzheimer's Association Queensland and situated at 18 Howard Street, Rosalie. The home offers a warm, friendly, caring environment and has operated as a home for ladies for over 40 years.

High care residential respite is also available at Rosalie Nursing Care Centre.

There is a Physiotherapist and a Leisure and Life-style Coordinator on staff. Other services include Podiatry, Dietician, Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Aromatherapy, Palliative care services, Clinical pharmacist medication reviews, a music program, hairdressing and church services.
