  How To Borrow

How does it work?

The Resource Library operates online by providing access to the catalogue of available resources in an format that is easy to navigate/browse.

When an item is borrowed from the Resource Library it is mailed to the borrower by the Association. The borrower is not charged for the mailing of the item.

When the borrower wishes to return an item they mail it back to the Association. This time the borrower is responsible for the postage charges involved.

Before you can borrow

Before you are permitted to borrow items from our Resource Library there are 2 things that you need to do.

  1. Become a registered member of our website. To register now click here.

  2. Complete the library registration form and return it to us with a legible photocopy of your drivers licence or other similar identification. This form can be found here.

Once you have completed these steps, and your registration has been processed you will be able to borrow items from our Resource Library.

Conditions of borrowing

The borrower agrees:

  1. To return resources by the due date.

  2. To not re-lend materials to other persons / organisations.

  3. To be responsible for costs incurred in returning items (eg. Postage charges.)

  4. To return materials in similar packaging to that in which they were received.

  5. To be responsible for the replacement costs of items not returned, lost or damaged.

  6. That if resources are returned by mail to the Association and are lost in transit, the borrower must provide proof of postage, or the items (or their value) must be replaced by the borrower.

  7. That the standard loan period is 14 days.

  8. That copyright law prohibits the reproduction of books, journals & videos and therefore, must not be copied, or duplicated.

Borrowing an item

The library catalogue has been designed to make your borrowing experience as easy as possible.

Simply browse through our resource catalogue until you locate the item you wish to borrow. When you are on the item's information page you will see 1 of 3 things

  1. If the item is on loan you will see the due date for return.

  2. If the item is available but you are not logged in you will see a link to log in. Once logged in you will be automatically returned to the item.

  3. If the item is available and you are logged in you will see a "Borrow This Item" button.

Once you have clicked on the borrow this item button you will receive confirmation of your loan. If you have overdue items, or you already have 6 items on loan you will not be able to borrow the item.
