following three benefits are all available through
Centrelink.

Carer
Payment: Provides income support for home carers.
It is means tested and is not paid in addition
to an existing pension.

Disability
Support Pension: for those under pension age
but unable to work because of a disability (including
those with dementia).

Carer
Allowance: (previously called the Domiciliary
Nursing Care Benefit): a fortnightly allowance
for carers of people assessed as needing nursing
home level care. It is not means tested.

Department
of Veterans Affairs
Provides financial assistance for eligible veterans,
war widow(er)s and their dependents. Various other
benefits may also be available.
Transport
Taxi subsidies are available for local travel for
people with a severe disability (includes dementia).

subsidies and other transport assistance to which
you may be entitled.
